Report: Team ‘convinced’ Giants will trade Odell Beckham for right offer

Odell Beckham

New York Giants general manager Dave Gettleman has said publicly on numerous occasions that he has no intention of trading Odell Beckham Jr., but those assurances have done nothing to stop the rumor mill from churning.

On Monday, Jeff Howe of The Athletic reported that the Giants are still involved in trade discussions surrounding Beckham. Howe’s colleague Michael Lombardi took things a step further on Tuesday, reporting that one NFL team is “convinced” the Giants would trade the star wide receiver for the right offer.

Lombardi also noted that Beckham has a “very short list” of teams he wants to be traded to, but that may not matter much. While Antonio Brown had the option of threatening to retire or telling interested teams he would not sign a contract extension, Beckham is just 26 and signed a massive contract extension prior to last season. He could always become a malcontent, but he already got his big contract and isn’t going to threaten to call it a career.

We know at least one team that has to be on Beckham’s short list, but the Giants would probably be hesitant to trade him to that team.
