Stan Wawrinka’s girlfriend Donna Vekic went out of her way to be at the US Open final on Sunday to support her boyfriend.
Vekic is also a tennis player and currently ranked No. 106 on the WTA tour. She did not play at the US Open but instead was in Budapest for an ITF event. Vekic won one of her matches and lost the second during the week, and she made it into New York to watch Stan play in the final. That’s dedication.
Incidentally, you may know Vekic from the controversy she was involved in. During a match against Stan, Australian Nick Kyrgios had some nasty words about another player having relations with Vekic. Those comments went viral.
