Adrian Beltre has hamstring strain, may be out for season
Whatever chance the Texas Rangers had of making up their wild card deficit took a big hit on Thursday night, and the news was no better on Friday.
Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre injured his hamstring chasing a ground ball in Thursday night’s game, and the injury may be severe enough to end his season.
Adrian Beltre says he has a Grade 2 strain of his left hamstring and will miss four weeks. He's not sure if he will play again in 2017.

A four week timeframe gives Beltre little time to get back on the field by the end of the season. By then, it will likely be too late anyway, as the Rangers sit four games out of the second wild card spot at 66-67 and will likely suffer without their unquestioned leader.
Beltre missed a good portion of the early part of the regular season with a calf issue. One has to wonder how much better the Rangers would be positioned if they’d had him healthy all season long.
