Braves P Mike Foltynewicz exits start with triceps tightness

Mike Foltynewicz is giving Atlanta Braves fans a scare.

Foltynewicz left his start against the New York Mets on Tuesday night after five innings. The Braves later said his early exit was due to triceps tightness.

Foltynewicz had only thrown 73 pitches over five scoreless. He allowed just two hits and had struck out six.

The 26-year-old is 5-4 with a 2.16 ERA this season. He leads the Braves’ starters in nearly every statistical category. Atlanta still won the game 8-2 but will hope their ace doesn’t have to miss much time.
