Curt Schilling pulled off Little League game after tweet about Muslims
Curt Schilling sent a controversial tweet on Tuesday comparing radical Muslims to Nazis, and the backlash was felt almost immediately.
In a statement shortly after the now-deleted tweet went viral, ESPN announced that Schilling has been removed from his duties with the Little League World Series.
“Curt’s tweet was completely unacceptable, and in no way represents our company’s perspective,” the network said. “We made that point very strongly to Curt and have removed him from his current Little League assignment pending further consideration.”
If you missed the tweet, it has been preserved here.
Schilling, who has always been one to voice his opinion loudly, took some time to apologize to some of his Twitter followers.
@SwedishCar850 agreed, my apologies. That didn't come across in any way as intended or interpreted.

@JayBerman going to have a life of its own no matter what. Gotta own the fallout but no need to keep it alive that way

@IAmMackWilliams its not fact, its data and it was not the forum to present it even if it was fact

The three-time World Series champion has always seemed to enjoy stirring the pot. But if he doesn’t want his job status to be affected, Schilling should probably just stay off Twitter.
