David Price discusses ‘night and day’ difference between Boston and Los Angeles

David Price

There was a lot of speculation that David Price simply didn’t fit well in Boston, and he seems to be finding things a lot easier since his trade to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Price was effusive in praising his new environment Sunday, saying there’s a huge difference between where he is now and where he was.

“It’s such a big difference from Boston to here,” Price said, via Bob Nightengale of USA Today. “Really, it’s night and day.”

One of the big differences Price has found is a much less intense media environment compared to Boston.

“That was a big day for me, a very big day,” Price said of his first day in Dodger camp. “I came in, got undressed, showered, came back to my locker, and stood there for 10 or 15 minutes. There were maybe two or three [reporters] hanging out, talking to other guys, and nobody came over to talk to me about my day. I couldn’t believe it.

“It was like after me and Mookie had our introductory press conference at Dodger Stadium, we walk off the field when it was all done, and Mookie says, ‘That’s it? Is this a joke?'”

Price definitely didn’t love the media in Boston. He seems to find things a bit more forgiving in Los Angeles, and that may have an impact on his career going forward. Either way, he certainly appears a lot happier.
