Cleveland Indians pitcher Mike Clevinger is not pleased with Major League Baseball over a recent punishment that was levied to him.
Clevinger revealed to Twitter on Saturday that he had officially been fined by the league over his custom cleats, even despite them being in majority team colors. He then went on to show off the cleats in question.
Officially have been fined for wearing these cleats even after getting them 51% team color, I do this for my daughters and family, as fans and players who follow me, what’s your take on players expressing themselves this way? @MLB

For Clevinger, who holds a 4-2 record with a 3.14 ERA in 11 starts this season, the fine did not come out of the blue — the league warned him last month over his “non-conforming shoes.” But for a rule that seems so arbitrarily enforced, Clevinger probably has fairly good reason to question the fine, especially since it sounds like he took steps to comply with MLB policy.
