Christian Yelich is off to a scorching start at the plate this season, and there may be no player in baseball who enjoys hitting in his home ballpark more than the Milwaukee Brewers star.
After missing several games with a back injury, Yelich returned to the starting lineup on Sunday and immediately regained the MLB lead for home runs by launching his 15th of the year. The third-inning moonshot against the New York Mets reached the third deck at Miller Park.

If it feels like Yelich hits a home run every time he steps to the plate at Miller park, that’s because he practically does. Of his 15 home runs this year, 14 have come at home. With those 14 home runs coming across 31 games at Miller Park, Tim Britton of The Athletic pointed out that Yelich has homered an average of every 3.6 at-bats at home this season.

That is mind-boggling.
We already gave you an idea of the type of home run pace Yelich is on, and it’s even more remarkable that he is homering an average of every other game and all but one of them have come at Miller Park. The idea of home-field advantage apparently means a lot more to the reigning NL MVP than it does to the average player.
