Joe Buck’s expected successor for World Series coverage revealed

Joe Buck smiles

Thanks to his exit from FOX, Joe Buck will not be calling the World Series this year for the first time in over two decades. Rest assured though, his expected successor will be another familiar figure to viewers.

Andrew Marchand of the New York Post reported this week that Joe Davis is the favorite to replace Buck as FOX’s lead MLB announcer and thus anchor their World Series coverage as well. Davis has called football, baseball, and basketball games for FOX since 2014.

The 34-year-old Davis had already filled in for Buck in calling a major MLB playoff game for the network last year. He also works Los Angeles Dodgers telecasts for Spectrum SportsNet, making him a well-known sportscaster.

Buck had called every World Series since 1996 except for when NBC and Bob Costas had the rights to the World Series in 1997 and 1999. But Buck left FOX earlier this month in a seismic move to ESPN. As for who will replace Buck on FOX’s NFL coverage, we have an idea of that too.
