Tampa television station takes shot at Detroit after David Price trade to Tigers
The flurry of activity on Thursday is what Major League Baseball’s trade deadline is all about.
Familiar names to baseball fans like Jon Lester, Yoenis Cespedes, John Lackey, Allen Craig, Austin Jackson, and Martin Prado were all swapped and will be suiting up for new teams shortly.
Perhaps the biggest name moved was David Price, who was sent to the Detroit Tigers as part of a three-team trade.
With Price leaving town, Tampa Bay television station FOX 13 decided to send farewell wishes to the former American League Cy Young Award winner. Unfortunately, the station did so by taking a shot at the city of Detroit via its Twitter account.
So mean: David Price traded from the Rays to the Tigers & this is how @MyFoxTampaBay says goodbye. #Yikes. pic.twitter.com/M1sf21yF2C"

Not surprisingly, the tweet was deleted as responses poured in.
We apologize, #Detroit. We wish David the best of luck no matter where he is! pic.twitter.com/ykhopLHTwX

To defend Detroit, FOX 2 fired this response, mocking the Rays’ home attendance.

So much for all of the action on trade deadline day being between teams.
