Woman nailed in head by home run ball at Mets game
A woman at Sunday’s New York Mets game got drilled in the head by a home run ball in the first inning of Sunday’s 5-4 loss to Arizona.
The woman was stationed beyond the wall in left-center field when Ketel Marte teed off on a leadoff bomb. She seemed to be in position to make the catch, but the ball went right through her hands and seemed to drill her in the forehead.

There was no word on the woman’s status. Arizona’s TV broadcast showed a brief glimpse of her holding her forehead, though it wasn’t clear if that was out of embarrassment, an actual injury, or perhaps both.

The good news for this lady is that the ball was coming down and wasn’t a line drive at close range. Plus, she did have her eyes on it, so it didn’t catch her by surprise. Hopefully she is okay, and she could probably nab some recognition for whatever injuries she has if she’s doing fine.
