Brittney Griner on Sunday finally addressed the infamous Caitlin Clark video.

Griner fouled out of the game during her Atlanta Dream’s 81-76 loss to the Indiana Fever on May 22. Griner was upset to have been called for the final foul — a play that involved Clark. Griner thought that Clark had exaggerated the contact to draw the foul call. She appeared to curse while on the bench, and many doing some lipreading thought Griner made some nasty comments about Clark.

On Sunday, OutKick reporter Dan Zaksheske asked Griner about the video prior to the Dream’s 89-56 win over the Washington Mystics. Although Griner recalled the play where she fouled out, she said she couldn’t remember what she said on the bench afterwards.

“I remember fouling out, being mad,” Griner said. “I really can’t remember what I said, honestly.”

She was offered to watch the video of her comments but indicated watching the video wouldn’t help her decipher it.

I asked Brittney Griner what she said after fouling out against the Indiana Fever three weeks ago (since no one else has asked since then), and she said she "can't remember."

Zaksheske asked Griner again after the game about the video. She said she did not say “f—ing white girl” about Clark.

“I know it wasn’t that because I wouldn’t use that type of language,” Griner said.

After the game, I asked Brittney Griner if it was possible that she said "f***ing white girl" after fouling out against the Indiana Fever, even though she couldn't remember what she said.

Griner insists that’s not what she said. Fans may feel otherwise.

Griner had 2 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks in 19 minutes during her Dream’s 89-56 win over the Mystics. The 34-year-old is averaging 11.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game this season. Griner is in her first year with the Dream after 11 seasons with the Phoenix Mercury. The former No. 1 drat pick is a 9-time WNBA All-Star.
