Draymond Green: Trail Blazers are ‘done’
Never one lacking in confidence or blunt braggadocio, Warriors forward Draymond Green now wants you to definitively stick a fork in the Portland Trail Blazers.
After Golden State’s 132-125 overtime victory over Portland in Game 4 of their second-round playoff battle on Monday, Green was upfront about his outlook for the remainder of the series.
“Do I think they’re done? Of course I think they’re done,” Green said per Ethan Strauss of ESPN. “If I don’t think they’re done, I don’t know who else is going to think it. We’re going home with a 3-1 lead. It’s up to us to close it out. And I trust my teammates, I trust our team to come out ready to go and close this series out.”
For Green, other than his downright ludicrous two-way impact for the team, his brashness and overall chutzpah have been integral to the Warriors maintaining their edge and their fire this season. With a closeout Game 5 now set for Wednesday at Oracle Arena, it’s great to see that Green continues to keep his foot (or perhaps his mouth for that matter) on the gas pedal as Golden State inches ever so closer to a successful championship defense.
