Former NFL DT: ‘Aaron Rodgers should be making more than James Harden’
The NFL and NBA offer wildly different salaries to their players. We’ve seen this firsthand this NBA offseason, as mid-tier players have cashed out. For example, J.J. Redick — who is a useful player, but not a star — signed a one-year, $23 million deal with Philadelphia.
Tom Brady makes an average of $20.5 million a year. That’s less than Serge Ibaka.
Of course, the NBA employs far fewer players, so it’s kind of like comparing apples and oranges, but that hasn’t stopped some NFL players — both current and former — from voicing their displeasure.
The latest: former NFL defensive tackle Terrance Knighton, who played for the Jaguars, Broncos, and Redskins during his seven-year career. Knighton believes the NFL’s best deserve to get paid more. He went on a tweet storm expressing his opinion Saturday.

Knighton went on and on with comparisons. He presented some numbers that indicated the NFL made much more than the NBA, but as The Big Lead pointed out, Knighton’s numbers were incorrect.
Regardless, this will probably be an unending debate until the NFL increases player salaries.
