The agent for Philadelphia 76ers guard Markelle Fultz denied asking the team for a trade.
Raymond Brothers, who represents Fultz, told ESPN in a statement that he had made no such demand and was fully focused on getting Fultz healthy and able to contribute.
Raymond Brothers, the agent for Sixers guard Markelle Fultz, tells ESPN: “I have given no indication to Elton Brand or anyone else that Markelle would prefer to be traded. My focus is to get Markelle healthy. End of story.”

The trick here is that the original story that prompted this denial never claimed Fultz or his representative had demanded a trade. It simply stated that Fultz himself would prefer to play for another team, but said nothing about him acting on that desire and trying to force a move. In a literal sense, nothing originally reported has been denied by the Fultz camp. It also doesn’t change the fact that the two sides are in a very strange spot right now.
