NBA Store begins selling ‘Buck Stops Here’ shirts

Bucks 24-1 shirt

After the Bucks ruined the Golden State Warriors’ perfect start to the 2015-16 NBA season like George H.W. Bush ruining a Japanese banquet, the NBA Store is now paying merchandising homage to another former U.S. President in honor of Milwaukee’s victory.

“The buck stops here,” was the famous motto of President Harry S. Truman, who kept the phrase displayed on his desk in the Oval Office for the duration of his presidency. And now it’s a t-shirt as well, as on Tuesday the NBA Store began selling shirts with the phrase written on it to commemorate the Bucks’ 108-95 win over the Warriors on Saturday.

The loss was Golden State’s first of the season and snapped a 28-game regular season win streak dating back to 2014-15.

The shirts will be cool buys for Bucks fans who already showed their adroitness in the subject by calling the team’s shot and sporting “24-1” T-shirts at Saturday’s game.

Well, Truman was the 33rd President after all. And how many games long was the NBA record winning streak of the 1971-72 Lakers that the Bucks prevented the Warriors from breaking? You guessed it. 33.
