Chris Broussard might want a do-over on the question he asked Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle between quarters during Game 4 of the Thunder-Mavs playoff series on Saturday.
Dallas was down by 10 points after three quarters, 89-79, but their offense had shot the ball well in the third. Broussard’s first question was about how Dallas can better defend Oklahoma City. His second was about the Mavs’ offensive success. Simultaneously ESPN was showing a graphic that pointed out Dallas had shot 70 percent compared to 60 percent for OKC in the third.
Carlisle must not have been aware of that stat because he was only focused on the scoreboard:

Broussard’s question would have been better asked if he prefaced it by pointing out the team shot 70 percent in the third. Without specifying things or focusing solely on the quarter, it left it open for Carlisle to dismiss it.
Maybe Mark Cuban’s disdain for Broussard has trickled down throughout the organization.
