Shams Charania says the deal is for the veterans minimum at $2.4 million.
The Hawks are a rebuilding team that finished with the worst record in the Eastern Conference last season. Former head coach Mike Budenholzer didn’t even want to stick around for the rebuild, so it says a lot about Carter’s patience and desire to remain in the NBA that he was willing to sign with Atlanta.
Carter spent last season with the Kings, averaging 5.4 points in 17.7 minutes per game.
