Extent of Villanova star Justin Moore’s leg injury revealed

Justin Moore on the floor

Villanova guard Justin Moore suffered a leg injury near the end of his team win in the NCAA Tournament on Saturday, and unfortunately it was as serious as it looked.

Villanova revealed on Sunday that Moore suffered a torn Achilles. His season is over.

That is obviously a major blow to Villanova’s title hopes. Moore played 34.6 points per game this season, which is the most of any player on the team. He averaged 14.8 points and 4.8 rebounds. Moore scored eight points and played 37 minutes in the Wildcats’ win over Houston in the Elite Eight.

Moore was trying to dive for a loose ball during the final minute of Saturday’s game, but his leg gave out. Viewers noted that the vibration in the lower part of Moore’s right calf made it look like he tore his Achilles, and those fears were confirmed.

Villanova will face Kansas in the Final Four on Saturday.
