Jimbo Fisher acknowledged after Florida State’s 31-28 loss to Louisville on Saturday that he should not have said anything to a heckling fan.
Fisher challenged a fan who yelled at him saying FSU should get new coaches.

One report says that same fan had been asked to put away a derogatory sign seconds before heckling Fisher.
The fan that @FSUFootball coach Jimbo Fisher got into it with had been told seconds before by police to put a derogatory sign away.

After the game, Fisher said he should not have said anything to the fan.
“It’s not frustration, just, ‘Hey, listen, be supportive,’” Fisher said of the interaction after the game, via the Orlando Sentinel. “There’s no reason to be nasty. I shouldn’t have said something.”
Then Fisher defended himself and said the fan wasn’t a genuine one.
“But at the same time, [I’m] defending players and people you’re with. I’m in charge of them, and I love them like a father. If they say something about your family, you take up for it. …
“Are you going to be a real fan or not? Just keep fighting with us. We ain’t quitting on you. Please don’t quit on us. We’re going to keep fighting, scratching, coaching and playing, and you see the heart and desire of those kids.
“I understand you’re going to get on us [coaches]. That’s part of the business. That’s part of life. I understand that. … There ain’t no quit in us either. We’re right there. We just have to find a way to get it.”
FSU is now 2-4 and off to its worst start since 2009 — the year Bobby Bowden got fired. The injury to top quarterback Deondre Francois has a lot to do with the dropoff in play.
