KJ Carta-Samuels has had quite the interesting offseason.
Carta-Samuels was announced as a grad transfer to UCLA earlier this year after spending the previous four years at Washington, where he mostly served as Jake Browning’s backup. The Bruins even welcomed Carta-Samuels as a member of the program last month via Twitter:

But on Sunday, Colorado State officially announced that Carta-Samuels had transferred to the Rams’ program and will enroll in graduate school.

UCLA has returning sophomore Devon Modster and top incoming recruit Dorian Thompson-Robinson in the mix, plus they are said to have interest in Arizona transfer Brandon Dawkins. Perhaps Carta-Samuels feels he will have a better shot at playing at Colorado State than at UCLA. The Rams’ quarterback last season, Nick Stevens, threw every pass for the team and completed his eligibility, leaving a hole at QB.
