Saquon Barkley did not waste any time declaring for the NFL Draft.
The Penn State running back announced on Sunday that he will be leaving school to go pro. He posted a note on his Instagram account in which he bid farewell to Penn State fans.
Nobody can blame Barkley for declaring. He is coming off his third straight excellent season for the Nittany Lions, and his stock really can’t be much higher after he had a big game on Saturday in the Fiesta Bowl against Washington. He broke a 92-yard touchdown run in that game and had 137 yards on the ground.
As of Saturday night, Barkley was playing coy about his NFL future, but few thought he would return to school. He will likely be a very high draft pick, as NFL teams could view him as a player who could have an Ezekiel Elliott-like impact.
