Nick Saban: Tua Tagovailoa ‘ahead of schedule’ in recovery from ankle sprain
Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa remains on track to play in the College Football Playoff.
Coach Nick Saban said Tagovailoa is recovering well from the sprained ankle he suffered during the SEC Championship, and is actually ahead of schedule in his recovery from the injury.

In other words, Oklahoma should be ready. There is every reason to believe Tagovailoa, as expected for weeks, will be ready for the national semifinal on Dec. 29. The Heisman Trophy runner-up is set up for a tantalizing matchup with the quarterback who beat him, Kyler Murray, in that game.
As has been demonstrated, if Tagovailoa has any issue, Jalen Hurts is more than capable of stepping in to replace him. That doesn’t seem like it will be necessary, though.
