49ers fan who went missing from stadium during game found dead
A San Francisco 49ers fan who was separated from his girlfriend and went missing during the team’s game against the New York Giants on Nov. 12 has been found dead.
According to ESPN, Santa Clara authorities have confirmed that the body of 32-year-old Ian Powers was discovered by a group of duck hunters about two miles outside Levi’s Stadium on Saturday. The cause of death was drowning and ruled an accident.
Powers, an Army veteran from Spokane, Wash., was last seen by his girlfriend during the fourth quarter of the 49ers’ Week 10 game when he left her and her two children to use the restroom. He never returned, and surveillance cameras showed him leaving the stadium during the game and walking through a parking lot. Police found Powers’ car abandoned when they traced his cell phone.
