Aldon Smith was released by the San Francisco 49ers on Friday in the wake of his latest run-in with the law, and the early belief is that he may have to wait until 2016 to find work again.
Shortly after the Niners cut Smith, one NFL general manager reportedly told Bleacher Report’s Mike Freeman that no team is going to take a chance on signing the 25-year-old for quite some time.
GM continued: "We won't see Aldon Smith in an NFL uniform until next season."

NFL GM in text to me on Aldon Smith: "For now, not touching him. No one will for the moment. Every team will wait and see."

Smith was suspended for nine games last season as a repeat offender of the NFL’s personal conduct policy. We’ve already highlighted the many ways in which he has gotten into trouble off the field over the past few years.
If Smith is convicted of any of the three charges he is expected to face from Thursday’s incident, he will likely be suspended for at least 12 games. He could be suspended for the entire 2015 season.
