A unique subtext to the top of this year’s NFL Draft is the persistent rumors that the top quarterbacks in the draft class would rather go anywhere other than the Cleveland Browns.
That, however, isn’t something that Baker Mayfield is worried about.
Mayfield told TMZ Sports that he would “absolutely” play for the Browns, saying that he relishes a challenge.
“I’ve always been a fan of big challenges and adversity in my life, so absolutely,” Mayfield said when asked if he’d be up to playing for Cleveland.
That’s the kind of attitude and self-belief that the Browns would probably want in their first overall pick. They’d be after someone who’s ready to embrace taking on such a massive challenge. Perhaps it’s one reason why Mayfield is a rumored target for the team at the top of the draft.
