Baker Mayfield gets rookie deal worth $32 million guaranteed
Baker Mayfield is making some major NFL money despite never having thrown a pass in the NFL.
The No. 1 overall draft pick agreed to his rookie deal with the Cleveland Browns, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport. Rapoport says the deal pays Mayfield $32.68 million guaranteed, and a signing bonus of nearly $22 million.

The Browns are going to be investing a lot of money into the quarterback position for the upcoming season. Projected starter Tyrod Taylor is set to make $16 million including his roster bonus. Mayfield will be making some nice money as a backup to Taylor.
And despite his significant contract, which contains more guaranteed money than Pro Bowler Earl Thomas signed for in 2014, Mayfield is said to be well behind Taylor in the quarterback competition.
