The debate and speculation over whether or not Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins would play on Thursday night against the New York Jets has been officially put to bed.
After joining his team for pregame warmups and testing his injured foot, Watkins was given the thumbs up by Buffalo’s medical staff and was not among the team’s announced inactives.

Watkins was listed as questionable on the Bills’ injury report Wednesday, but did practice on a limited basis for the first time since complaining about soreness in his surgically-repaired foot following a Week 1 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
Leading up to Thursday night, Bills head coach Rex Ryan insisted the wide receiver would suit up and be on the field, but there were still medical hurdles Watkins had to clear. With those now having come and gone, fans will be treated to a Sammy Watkins vs. Darrelle Revis matchup.
That head-to-head will be particularly interesting given that Revis is looking for a bounce-back performance after being torched by Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green in a Week 1 loss.
