Johnny Manziel could soon find himself with a new job.
The CFL’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats confirmed Sunday that they did make a contract offer to Manziel, ensuring that they would retain his exclusive negotiating rights going forward.

It’s unclear how serious the offer is, or if the Tiger-Cats are simply doing this primarily to retain his rights going forward. Most of the other hurdles have already been cleared, though. The league has cleared the Tiger-Cats to sign Manziel if they want to go ahead with it, and if there’s a mutual willingness to make something happen, it may come to pass sooner rather than later.
