Chad Johnson wants to coach wide receivers at Florida A&M
Chad Johnson played in the NFL for 11 seasons, then went to play for the Montreal Alouettes in the Canadian Football League. Now, Johnson wants to pass along the wealth of knowledge he’s gained over the years to guys at the collegiate level.
On Saturday, Johnson wondered out loud, via his Twitter account, if he can coach wide receivers at Florida A&M University.
Can I coach the receivers at FAMU?

Not surprisingly, there were numerous enthusiastic responses from those hoping Johnson does in fact get the position. Among the people to reply to Johnson was the current wide receivers coach at Florida A&M, Donald “DJ” McCarthy.
@ochocinco my guy 85.. You know that your welcome to come up anytime and share your wealth of knowledge with the WR here at FAMU

McCarthy is obviously qualified for the position having coached at several stops along the way, including at LSU for three seasons, one of which was their national championship season of 2007. That said, you can never have too many resources to draw from and the fact that he responded to Johnson to say the door is open for him to help teach Rattlers wide receivers is pretty cool to see. Hopefully, Johnson takes McCarthy up on the offer.
