This year’s NFL Scouting Combine is almost over and among the talking points when it’s completed will probably be the wide receivers and how collectively slow they were as a group.
There’s, obviously, an abundance of talent in Indianapolis with names like Laquon Treadwell, Corey Coleman, Michael Thomas, Josh Doctson, and Will Fuller among those participating. However, when it comes to the 40-yard dash times, the group underwhelmed.
WRs averaged 4.56 at the 2016 Combine.

Of course, speed isn’t the only thing that makes a wide receiver great. However, it can certainly help and the collective times caught the attention of Broncos cornerback Chris Harris, who wasn’t too impressed.
Some slow Wrs coming in the league today lol

Harris will likely get to see many of the receivers in this year’s draft class up close over the coming years, which will give him an opportunity to judge for himself how fast or slow they are. Until then, it’s all fun and games.
