Doug Martin will reportedly be active for Week 10

After injuring his hamstring almost eight weeks ago, Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin appears to be ready to return to the gridiron.

According to a report by Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times on Saturday, Martin will be active for Sunday’s Week 10 contest against the Chicago Bears.

Martin, the two-time Pro Bowler, hasn’t played since hurting the hammy in a Week 2 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. He hit a snag in his recovery last month, leaving Tampa Bay paper-thin in the backfield with backup Charles Sims unavailable as well after landing on injured reserve with a knee injury.

Since then, the Buccaneers have incredulously seen two more running backs go down with Jacquizz Rodgers spraining his foot in Week 8 and Antone Smith being lost for the season with his own knee injury suffered in Week 9. Hopefully, Martin’s return this Sunday can help put an end to the carnage for the 3-5 Bucs.
