Dwight Clark dies at 61 after losing battle with ALS
Dwight Clark has died at the age of 61 after losing his battle with ALS.
Clark’s wife Kelly shared the sad news on Twitter Monday.
I’m heartbroken to tell you that today I lost my best friend and husband. He passed peacefully surrounded by many of the people he loved most. I am thankful for all of Dwight’s friends, teammates and 49ers fans who have sent their love during his battle with ALS. Kelly Clark.

Clark played for the 49ers from 1979-1987. He was a two-time All-Pro and two-time Super Bowl champion.
Clark is best known for making “The Catch” to help the 49ers beat the Cowboys in the NFC Championship Game.
Clark announced last year that he had been diagnosed with ALS. He leaves behind his wife and three children.
