It would be fair to say Ezekiel Elliott’s 2017 season was not what he wanted. He missed six games with a personal conduct policy suspension, and he only managed 4.1 yards per carry when he did play, a full yard fewer than he did in his standout rookie season.
The Dallas Cowboys running back enters his third season with something to prove — and, according to him, a chip on his shoulder.
Ezekiel Elliott said he’s been more focused this offseason. Wants to prove he’s the NFL’s best RB. “I’m definitely going into this year with a chip on my shoulder. I think I got a lot to prove.”
Does he run better with a chip on his shoulder?
Zeke: “We’ll see.”

We know what Elliott can do. He led the NFL with 1,631 yards rushing as a rookie, but his status has definitely fallen since then. His second NFL season saw him fail to break 1,000 yards in ten games. He’s using it as a motivator, and we’ll see what it does for him.
