Cincinnati Bengals star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase nearly forgot what it was like to find the end zone.
In Week 17’s game against the Arizona Cardinals at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio, Chase finally ended a long touchdown drought, as he reeled in not just one, but two TDs in the Bengals’ 37-14 victory at home.
It was the first game he scored a touchdown since Week 7’s meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers at the same venue, and that 73-day gap felt like forever to the former LSU Tigers star wideout.
“I didn’t even know what celebration I was going to do once I scored,” Chase said when asked about finally scoring a touchdown again, via Joe Danneman of Fox 19 Now.
“That’s how I knew I hadn’t been in there in a minute.”
Chase’s first touchdown against the Cardinals was a sensational one, as he used a series of moves to evade Arizona’s defense. For his celebration, he simply raised his hands and spiked the ball. Nothing fancy, but all that mattered to him and the Bengals was his touchdown.

The return of Joe Burrow under center has raised the ceiling of the Bengals’ attack, with Chase among the main beneficiaries.
While it took him a long time to score a touchdown again, he has been very productive in terms of yards gained in the 2025 NFL regular season.
He enters the final week of the regular season already with 1,316 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns on 117 receptions and 175 targets. The 25-year-old Chase can add more to those numbers on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns at Paycor Stadium.
