Jets reportedly fire offensive coordinator John Morton
The New York Jets are reportedly making a change to their coaching staff.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Wednesday that the Jets have parted ways with offensive coordinator John Morton after one season. Furthermore, they could look to replace him with Todd Haley, who was let go as Pittsburgh’s offensive coordinator earlier in the day.
Jets making change at OC: Johnny Morton is out, per sources. Two potential replacements: former Steelers’ OC Todd Haley and Jets’ QB coach Jeremy Bates, who was well liked and respected in building last year.

The Jets had been Morton’s first NFL offensive coordinator job. He had previously served as an offensive assistant and wide receivers coach for several teams, and was USC’s offensive coordinator for two seasons.
The Jets liked what they saw from coach Todd Bowles enough in 2017 to extend his contract, but apparently they want more on offense from a team that finished 11th in the AFC in points scored.
