The future of New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara remains unclear.
The Saints signed Travis Etienne to begin free agency, and with Lamara already on the roster, it was a bit of a surprising move.
After that, NFL insider Ian Rapoport floated the thought of Kamara possibly retiring, saying, “I think it’s fair to say some have wondered whether or not he would walk away from the game at its height.”
On Thursday, Saints head coach Kellen Moore was asked whether Kamara is considering retirement, and he gave a vague response.
“I’m not going to get into all that stuff,” Moore said. “Haven’t had those conversations with him anyway.”
Interesting question-and-answer with Kellen Moore on Alvin Kamara and Travis Etienne.

Once the NFL’s legal tampering period began, the Saints and Etienne agreed to a four-year, $52 million deal.
ESPN insider Adam Schefter also reported that teams could inquire about Kamara if he ends up being on the trade block.
Kamara was selected by the Saints in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He has yet to cross the 1,00-yard threshold in rushing yards in his career, but he has also dealt with several injuries throughout his career.
In 2025, Kamara played a career-low 11 games, and he missed the final six due to an MCL injury.
Nothing has been announced yet, but Moore’s response to the retirement question sure was interesting.
