The Baltimore Ravens are trying to get their season on track following a 1-3 start, and it sounds like they will have to do so without Lamar Jackson.

Jackson suffered a hamstring injury late in the Ravens’ 37-20 Week 4 loss to the Chiefs at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo. Baltimore was losing 30-13 late in the third quarter at the time Jackson exited, which led to some fans accusing the quarterback of quitting on the team.

Unfortunately for the Ravens, the injury is legitimate. Brian Wacker of the Baltimore Sun reports that Jackson is unlikely to play in Baltimore’s Week 5 game against the Houston Texans on Sunday. Jackson could be sidelined for a few weeks.

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson could be out for up to 2-3 weeks and is likely to miss Sunday’s game against the visiting Houston Texans with a hamstring injury, two sources with direct knowledge of the situation confirmed to The Baltimore Sun on Tuesday. Read more:… pic.twitter.com/uxcYiSjaZ9

The Ravens host the Texans on Sunday and then the Los Angeles Rams in Week 6. They have a bye in Week 7, so it is possible that Jackson could be given a full four weeks to recover while only missing three games. If Baltimore were to place Jackson on injured reserve, he would have to miss a minimum of four games.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said on Monday that Jackson would have gone back into the game against the Chiefs had the quarterback been able to, regardless of the score. Many fans speculated that Jackson was either milking an injury or his team was playing it safe, but that was not the case.

Cooper Rush took over for Jackson on Sunday and is the only other quarterback on Baltimore’s active roster at the moment. The team could add another veteran in the coming days.
