Lions fan stuck with ‘2015 Super Bowl Champs’ tattoo

Dave Morian is a die-hard Detroit Lions fan. Not only is does he bleed silver and blue, but Dave is one of those sports fans. You know, the ones who get championship tattoos before their team wins a championship.

And now, Morian is stuck with it — kind of.

Before the 2014 season began, Morian got a “Super Bowl Champs 2015” tattoo that features the Lions logo in the foreground with the Vince Lombardi trophy in back. WDIV-TV in Detroit recently caught up with Morian to ask him how he is feeling in the wake of the Lions falling victim to one of the most controversial penalty reversals in playoff history.

“Disappointment, you know,” he said. “Just like, slow, and then anger, and then kind of disbelief, I guess.”

Fortunately, the tattoo artist used a font that can easily be altered. So if the Lions do ever win a championship, the tattoo can be changed to the proper year.

Morian explained that he plans to get the 2015 changed to 2016 in the near future. The thing that no one mentioned is that while this year’s Super Bowl will take place in 2015, it will determine the 2014 NFL champion. The Seattle Seahawks won the Super Bowl in 2014 but they are the 2013 NFL champions. You’re better off just going with the number of the Super Bowl like this fan did rather than the year.

Anyway, it could be worse for Morian. I don’t see any way a tattoo artist is going to change this Philadelphia 76ers championship tattoo. At least Dave has options.
