Marshawn Lynch is in line for a very nice payday from the Oakland Raiders if he can produce.
According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk, Lynch’s base salary is a modest $1.35 million, with a $1 million roster bonus. He’ll also receive a workout and per-game roster bonuses that will bring the base package to $3 million.
The bonuses are where the real money would be made. Lynch can make $500,000 if he scores 12 touchdowns and $2.4 million if he reaches 1,000 yards, with smaller bonuses for lesser increments. He gets further incentives for yardage markers up to 1,600, plus additional money based on team performances and a playoff appearance.
Lynch will essentially get paid as long as he performs. He’s clearly very excited about being back in the NFL, and as long as he stays healthy, you’d figure he should be able to get a fair amount of those bonuses.
