Marsha Kearney, the mother of Rashee Rice, has been charged for an alleged theft.
Earlier this month, a video circulated that appeared to show Kearney being caught on video camera stealing a neighbor’s package. The neighbor had turned the matter over to local police after being unable to resolve matters with Kearney directly.
According to a story from TMZ Sports, Kearney was charged by North Richland Hills Police with a misdemeanor for the alleged theft.
The alleged incident occurred on Sept. 29, after the Kansas City Chiefs’ Week 4 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. That’s the same game where Rice suffered a significant knee injury.
An arrest warrant for the 43-year-old woman apparently was issued on October 8. Kearney turned herself in a week later, according to TMZ’s report.
This is the second theft case Kearney has faced this year. She faced allegations of stealing household items from a man in March, though that case was dismissed in June.
Rashee Rice was a second-round pick by the Chiefs in 2023 out of SMU. He had 79 catches for 938 yards and 7 touchdowns as a rookie and helped his team win the Super Bowl. Rice is on injured reserve and expected to miss the rest of this season due to his torn LCL.
