Report: Raiders to keep both Nathan Peterman, Mike Glennon
Jon Gruden loves his quarterbacks. That’s never been a question. But there was a question about whether or not his Oakland Raiders would carry three of them on their roster to open the season, and one reporter says that will be the case.
NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport said on Friday night that the Raiders are planning to keep three quarterbacks, which means both Nathan Peterman and Mike Glennon would make the team behind starter Derek Carr.
The #Raiders are expected to keep 3 QBs, with Mike Glennon slotting in behind starter Derek Carr, source said. Coach Jon Gruden really does like Nathan Peterman and wants to help resurrect his career. Peterman should stick, too.

Glennon reportedly would be the backup to Carr, while Peterman would be third string.
Peterman was an absolute disaster in Buffalo. Despite being horrendous for the Bills (one touchdown, seven interceptions in 2018), Gruden remained a fan of the former Tennessee QB.
Peterman had a strong showing in preseason with the Raiders, passing for 475 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions while completing 71.4 percent of his passes. Those are promising numbers. But you have to wonder if by keeping two backups, Gruden might be letting his desire to prove how great he is with QBs outweigh the Raiders’ ability to build its most complete roster.
