Amazing stat shows just how bad Nathan Peterman has been
It’s not really a secret that Nathan Peterman is one of the NFL’s least effective quarterbacks. Sometimes, though, it’s worth putting into context just how ineffective he’s been.
Peterman made his fourth career start and eighth appearance overall for the Buffalo Bills on Sunday with regular backup Derek Anderson sidelined with a concussion. The quarterback has never looked good and that continued on Sunday, as he went 12-of-19 for 75 yards with two interceptions.
That’s an awful first half by any measure. Amazingly, though, it was enough to raise Peterman’s career passer rating.
Nathan Peterman’s 12/19, 75 yards, 0 TDs, 2 INTs at halftime
That’s good enough to raise his career passer rating from 31.4 to 31.5

Peterman now has one touchdown and six interceptions on the season, and three touchdowns and 11 picks over his entire career. None of this is at all new, and even if he is a third-stringer, you have to wonder why the Bills insist on keeping him on the roster at this point.
