Steelers get good news on Ramon Foster’s knee injury
The Pittsburgh Steelers appear to have dodged a major bullet after veteran offensive lineman Ramon Foster was carted off the practice field over the weekend.
Foster appeared to suffer a serious knee injury at training camp on Saturday, but Aditi Kinkhabwala of NFL Network reports that tests revealed no ligament damage. While Foster did sustain a bone bruise, the Steelers are optimistic he will be ready for the start of the regular season.
Huge sigh of relief from #Steelers camp. LG Ramon Foster hyperextended his knee, but did not suffer any ligament damage and will NOT need surgery. Should be out 4-5 weeks.
Remember: no Steeler has logged more snaps since 2009 than him.— Aditi Kinkhabwala (@AKinkhabwala) July 29, 2018
#Steelers LG Ramon Foster also has some bone bruising. But his (and the team’s) goal is still that he returns in time for Game 1.

Judging by the scene with Foster at practice, many were bracing for the Steelers to announce he suffered a season-ending injury. Losing a player who has missed just a handful of games since 2009 would have been a major blow to Pittsburgh, so they’ll be happy to let the 32-year-old rest for as long as he needs over the next month or so.
