Mike Lange delivered a fantastic call of Nick Bonino’s winning goal in Game 6 of the Capitals-Penguins series on Tuesday night.
After rallying from down 3-1 in the series to win Game 5 and send things to a sixth game, the Caps found themselves down 3-0 in Game 6. They didn’t quit and tied things up, sending the contest to overtime.
But Pittsburgh’s Bonino won it with his second goal of the postseason, leading to this call from Lange, which included a reference to the Presidents’ Trophy the Caps won:

“And all the Presidents’ Trophy’s men couldn’t put Humpty together again!” Lange declared, getting in a nice zinger on the rival Caps.
This is the second time since 2010 that the Caps won the Presidents’ Trophy and failed to advance to the conference finals. That’s another common criticism of Alex Ovechkin, who also has never advanced to the conference finals.
