Team USA goes nuts after Teddy Stiga wins World Juniors
Team USA went nuts on Sunday celebrating after Teddy Stiga helped them beat Finland to win the IIHF World Junior Championship.
The U.S. and Finland were in overtime tied at 3 in the gold medal game of the tournament. About eight minutes into the extra period, Stiga received a pass from Zeev Buium just before crossing the blue line. Stiga gathered the puck and then beat Petteri Rimpinen low for the golden goal.
Stiga went to his knees to celebrate and then was mobbed by his teammates in a cool celebration:

That was a cool scene.
Team USA also won the World Juniors last year, so this marks the first time ever that they’ve won the event in consecutive years. The U.S. has won the World Juniors seven times now, which is still well short of Canada, which has won 20.
