Shae Cornette’s husband Jordan reacted via social media on Thursday to the big job announcement.
ESPN announced on Thursday that Shae had been hired as the new host of “First Take,” replacing Molly Qerim. That’s a big step up for Shae, who had been hired by the network in 2020 and worked mostly as an anchor on “SportsCenter.” Shae is married to former Notre Dame basketball player Jordan Cornette, who shared an interesting note of support congratulating his wife.
“They never made it easy for her. Beyond wild stuff. And yet she still won. Never played their game. Played hers. True boss behavior. They are lucky. You can’t keep a star down. She is a force of nature and won’t be denied. Beyond proud of my Schway,” he wrote.

Beyond wild stuff.
And yet she still won.
Never played their game. Played hers.
True boss behavior.
They are lucky.

Jordan’s post makes it seem like Shae avoided company politics and was able to land the job despite that. She doesn’t have that high of a profile and isn’t too well known, but that’s about to change.
As for Jordan, he works for NBC Sports and Golf Channel. He played four seasons of basketball at Notre Dame from 2001-2005. He averaged 3.9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game during his four-year career.
The Cornettes have been together since at least 2016 and were married in 2019. They have two children together, and Jordan has a child from a previous relationship.
