Katinka Hosszu won the gold medal in the 400 meter individual medley at the Rio Olympics on Saturday, and she did it by obliterating the previous world record by two seconds. Watching Hosszu destroy the competition in her preliminary heat and then the finals of the event provided the added benefit of introducing the world to her husband Shane Tusup, who is an absolute maniac.
Tusup was going crazy while his wife was putting up her world record time. Take a look:

They say Hosszu really didn’t take things to the next level until she started by coached and trained by Tusup, who introduced a new plan for her where she raced more and trained less. Tusup was also a swimmer, as the two met as freshman at USC. A New York Times piece has said Tusup’s behaior has caused a lot of controversy within the swimming community thanks in part to his emotional displays and outbursts. But with that guy in your corner, you cold probably do anything.
