The man who tried to attack Larry Nassar in a court room on Friday morning has apologized for his actions, and a judge has decided to release him from custody without penalty.
Randall Margraves, whose three daughters were among Nassar’s hundreds of sexual assault victims, went after Nassar after a judge turned down Margraves’ request to lock Nassar in a room with him as part of the former USA Gymnastics doctor’s sentence. Margraves was tackled by officers and taken into custody.

Not long after the incident took place, Judge Janice Cunningham granted Margraves his release and said there is “no way this court is going to issue any type of punishment due to the circumstances of this case.” Margraves apologized for losing his cool.
"I lost control," Margraves said. "I apologize 100 times." He said he's embarrassed and didn't mean to upstage his daughters. He came here to support them.

A criminal investigation is still ongoing and could result in Margraves being prosecuted for assault, but that seems unlikely. The judge who sentenced Nassar to 175 years summed up how everyone feels with some pretty powerful words, and it’s hard to blame the parent of three young women who were abused by Nassar for losing his cool.
