Legal Matters, Ndamukong Suh

Ndamukong Suh accused of sideswiping car, berating driver, fleeing scene

Detroit Lions defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh is in the middle of another controversy regarding his driving conduct.

A Michigan man is accusing Suh of sideswiping his car early Thursday morning, berating him, and then fleeing the scene.

Steve Vines told FOX 2 in Detroit that he was on his way to work early Thursday morning when Suh tangled with him merging onto a ramp.

“All three of us got over. He rode up on my butt,” Vines told My Fox Detroit. “As we’re going up the ramp, he just punched it, went right around me…. He just sideswiped me.”

Vines says he tried speaking to the other driver — who was in a black Range Rover — when they were stopped at a light.

“I look over at him and he started yelling at me, ‘Trying to cut me off. Get out of the way.’ And I just said, ‘Really?'” he explained. “He just started yelling about getting the hell out of his way and cutting him off.”

Vine says he called Dearborn police and was advised to meet them at the Lions’ practice facility after watching Suh drive in there. Vine says that despite being a big Lions fan, he didn’t find out until later that the other driver was Suh. He says he was met with hostility when he confronted Suh at the practice facility.

“That’s when he said, ‘I advise you to leave, now.’ And I said, ‘I’m not going anywhere. I talked to the police.’ (He said), ‘I don’t care what they said. You need to get out of here.’ And then he said, ‘I’m advising you to leave, now.'”

Police reportedly are investigating the incident. Suh reportedly didn’t comment on the incident when asked about it after practice Thursday.

Suh crashed his car in Portland last year and blamed it on swerving by accident, but a passenger disputed his account and said Suh was driving recklessly. Between his driving incidents off the field and his dirty play on it, Suh is cultivating a reputation as a hot-headed guy who can’t control himself. He, of course, would dispute all that.
